Teaching on Lemon Lane

Tara's Story

Hello! I'm Tara, the heart and soul behind Teaching On Lemon Lane. This journey began not just in a classroom but in the nooks and crannies of life where teaching, creativity, and family intersect.

From a bustling career in elementary education to the joys and juggling acts of motherhood, my path has been about finding that sweet spot where passion meets purpose.

The idea of Teaching On Lemon Lane took root amidst lesson plans and playdates, driven by a desire to share not just resources, but pieces of inspiration and encouragement with educators and creative souls everywhere.

Lemon Legacy

The story of Lemon Lane is sweet and simple. With a last name like Lemon, how could I not be obsessed with all things citrus? This zest for lemons is more than a theme; it's a nod to a fun, bright, and refreshing outlook on life, much like my days with Benson, Lovelyn, and Gracie. Each day with my kids is a blend of laughter, discovery, and the kind of love that makes every challenge worth it. They inspire me to create a world at Teaching On Lemon Lane that's as lively and joyful as our life at home.

Teaching with a Twist

At Teaching On Lemon Lane, we're dedicated to making education both impactful and delightful. We empathize with the challenges and joys of teaching, striving to offer resources that not only simplify the demanding life of a teacher but also infuse classrooms with excitement and learning. Our community is a refreshing escape where educators find resources that are educational, engaging, and filled with creative flair.

I was floundering for ideas of how to build classroom culture during my first week of school. The Teaching on Lemon Lane activities were by far some of my FAVORITE first-week activities I’ve ever done and will remain a staple in my class. Each activity was carefully crafted and explained well from a teacher’s point of view and a student’s point of view.

I used this as a supplement to my nonfiction unit for my 7th graders. The organizers helped to clarify students' thinking. Very visually appealing and a useful tool.

My students really enjoyed this activity! After everyone finished, we printed them and did a "Turkey Trot" around the room as they looked at everyone's feathers.

My students loved creating their disguises!! Then, they wrote a persuasive letter from the point of view of the turkey or themself using the different prompts offered in this resource! It was the PERFECT activity to fill a few days of writing before the Thanksgiving break! Thank you for such a great product!
